Jones Elementary recently held a science night hosted by the Jones PTA and the Perot Museum. The theme was “Earth and Space” and students participated in 10 different stations that allowed them to experiment with various aspects of space.
There were opportunities for students to hold dry ice bubbles to learn about the atmosphere. Students also used augmented reality to learn facts about the universe and feel as though they were holding it in their hand.
Other stations included designing a telescope that could be packed and deployed, studying the creation of craters, navigating rovers on other planets, modeling the orbits of planets and experimenting with filtered light.
Students had fun and learned relevant information at the same time!
