This year’s Fourth of July celebration will be a little more festive than in years past. Onlookers at Harry Myers Park are in for a special patriotic treat. To commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, the Terry Fisher American Legion Post in Rockwall is planning a unique demonstration.
Parachutists will jump from a vintage WWII Navy R4D-6S airplane, flown by the Dallas-Fort Worth wing of the Commemorative Air Force. The R4D-6S will fly over Harry Myers Park at about 7:45 p.m., followed by a parachute demonstration at approximately 7:50 p.m. before the fireworks display at dusk. The Terry Fisher American Legion Post marks its 100th anniversary this year. For more information about Fourth of July events, please visit playrockwall.com.
