TxDOT Hosting Public Hearing at 6PM on April 30th Regarding FM 549.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Hearing regarding the proposed roadway Improvements to FM 549. horn SH 205 to SR 278 In the City of Rockwell, Rockwell County. Texas. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2018 at the Liberty Hall Jury Room located inside the Rockwall County Courthouse, 1111 East Yellow Jacket Lane, Rockwall, Texas 76087. Displays will be available for viewing at 6.00 p.m. with the formal hearing starting at 7.00 p.m. The purpose of the public hearing is to present the proposed project to the public and receive comments.

The proposed project would widen approximately 2.08 miles of FM 549 to a four -lane roadway with a 20 -root center turn lane median from SR 205 to SH 278, In Rockwall. within Rockwall County, Texas. In addition to widening, the project will create a new segment of FM 549 extending from south of FM 113910 SR 205. Expansion would consist of four, 1210 14 -foot wide lanes with 2 -foot wide shoulders. FM 549 would also have 5 -foot wide sidewalks on both sides of the rosd. At specific locations, 124001 wide turn lanes will be added as well. A bridge would be constructed for the crossing of Long Branch. The proposed project would require approximately 11.61 acres of additional right-of-way (ROW) to expand the roadway. No residential or non-residential structures would be displaced.

One property determined as eligible for the National Register of Historic Places would experience direct effects by the proposed project. Because the project would take ROW from a property that is eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, the project is subject to Section 4(f) coordination pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327. Effects to the resource are minimal and resulted in a finding of No Adverse Effect: however, the total property take constitutes a de minimis use of the property under Section 4(f).

Environmental documentation, maps showing the project location, and other information regarding the project are on fie and available for pubic inspection at the TxDOT Dallas District Office, 4777 East Highway 80. Mesquite. Texas 75150 This information will also be available for inspection at the public hearing. A copy of the approved schematic and of this hearing notice is available online at keepitmovingDallas.com under Upcoming Public Hearing/Meeting.

Written comments from the public are requested and may be submitted at the hearing and by mail for a period 01 15 calendar days following the hearing to the following address: Texas Department of Transportation. Attention: Mr. Nelson Underwood. P.E.. 4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75150. Comments may also be emailed to – nelsonunderwood@txdot.gov. Written comments must be received or postmarked on or before Wednesday May 15, 2019 to be included In the documentation of the public hearing.
