Fred Pope Jr., of Rockwall, TX, passed away April 14, 2019. He was born October 22, 1946, in Chicago, IL, to the late Fred Pope Sr. and Jenny Seno Pope. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed for over 30 years in the motion picture industry driving a production van all over from Maine to Mexico, where he was greatly admired and respected by the film crew and cast. Freddie loved to bend your ear with tales of his escapades on location. Fred was an avid woodworker and loved to spend time piddling in his workshop and listening to Frank Sinatra singing “My Way” which was truly how he lived his life.
Fred is survived by his wife of 43 years: Susan Flowers Pope; son: Christopher James “Jamie” Pope and wife Katy; daughter: Katherine Pope Duncan and husband Greg; beloved granddaughters: Brenyn Kate Pope and Isabella Grace Duncan; brother: Joe Pope and wife Rosie; and sister: Marianne Parejko and husband Gene. His family was his proudest success.
In his honor give a little more today – a little more faith, a little more laughter, a little more understanding, a little more love.
Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Union Gospel Mission of Dallas.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date.
