The City of Royse City and Royse City ISD are proud to announce the formation of a partnership with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas to locate a YMCA facility in Royse City. Future meetings will be held to identify community needs and plan for capital campaigns as we move forward. The location of the facility has yet to be determined. School districts who boast a community YMCA enjoy many benefits for both students and staff.

Royse City Mayor Janet Nichol said, ”I am so excited about this opportunity and thank the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas for choosing to partner with our community. In my experience, the YMCA has proven to be an extremely valuable partner for any community in which they choose to affiliate themselves with. This project will not happen overnight. Royse City is committed to working diligently towards helping build a program and facility that will meet the needs of our community for generations to come.

Irene Johnson of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas stated, “I am excited to work alongside you to gauge the public interest of having a Y in Royse City in the future. I will do that by working with leaders to identify gaps that might exist and how the Y could fill them. As we serve, it is our purpose to strengthen the foundations of community. I look forward to joining you and building relationships in the Royse City Community”.
