Barbara Ann Dendy, age 82, of Rockwall, TX, passed away April 1, 2019. She was born March 2, 1937, in Denison, TX, to Clyde Vernon Thompson and Hazel Orena (Davis) Thompson.
She married Douglas Lee Dendy on July 1, 1954, and they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage together.
Barbara worked as a credit manager for Sears and Montgomery Ward for many years, but the centerpiece of her life was her family. Her family was the light of her life, and she was fiercely loving and loyal to them. Doug’s career took the family all over west Texas, and she would build a happy and loving home with each move. No family member ever had doubts about her love and devotion for them. She held high expectations for her sons, and they are better men because of the influence she had on their lives. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons: Keith Dendy and wife Gail of Terrell, TX, and Randy Dendy and spouse Aubrey McClure of the Woodlands, TX; granddaughter: Ashley Diane Hall and husband Jared; and great grandson: Kemper Andrew Hall of Quinlan, TX.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Doug Dendy; her parents; and sisters: Betty Sue Todd and Carolyn Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 9:00am.
