Rockwall Police Department Seeking Information on Suspect That Evaded Pursuit After Attempting to Pass Counterfeit Money

Rockwall, Texas – On Friday, March 29, 2019, at approximately 3:09 pm, the Rockwall Police Department received a report of a black, male subject attempting to pass a forged $100 bill at CVS Pharmacy located at 1220 Horizon Rd. While arriving on scene, the responding officer encountered the suspect who violently resisted the officer and then fled on foot. Responding units set up a perimeter and began to search for the suspect. A few minutes later, another officer located the suspect vehicle traveling West on IH 30. The vehicle led officers on a chase across Lake Ray Hubbard into Garland. After exiting at Broadway, the pursuing officer lost sight of the vehicle and the pursuit was terminated. The offense is still under investigation by the Rockwall Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.
