(Press Release) – “Proud to join the Sheriff’s Office and the Rockwall County Commissioner’s Court in recognizing Mr. Wade for going above and beyond in getting involved and his actions saved a life,” said Rockwall County Judge David Sweet.

The Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office along with the Rockwall County Commissioners Court would like to recognize Mr. Wade for his heroism on July 28, 2018 with the Sheriff’s Medal of Valor. In the early morning hours of July 28, while traveling on State Highway 66 in Fate, Texas Mr. Wade observed a motor vehicle crash. Without hesitation Mr. Wade stopped and rendered aid to the occupants of the vehicle. Mr. Wade pulled both accident victims from the vehicle and immediately started CPR on the female passenger, identified as Emilia Nkuh Achua. While performing CPR on Ms. Achua the vehicle caught fire, ultimately becoming fully engulfed.

Sadly Ms. Achua did not survive the crash, however her son, Damien Bua Achua did survive. Without a doubt his selfless act and disregard for his own personal safety saved the life of Damien Achua.
