Robert “Bob” Dean Round, age 70, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on March 20, 2019. Bob and his twin brother, Dick, were born to John D. and Thelma Johnson Round on February 6, 1949, in Dallas, TX. Bob graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1967. He attended Grayson County College on a baseball scholarship and received a B.S. in Business Management from LeTourneau University.
In 1995, he married Dianne Round of Rockwall, and together they joined their two families from previous marriages. Following his career in telecommunications engineering, Bob and Dianne retired to their house looking out on Lake Ray Hubbard.
Bob loved baseball, golfing, fishing, and deer hunting. He was fascinated with anything mathematically confusing. He was also competitive and showed no mercy when playing dominoes with his family, poker with his friends, or having Nerf gun fights with his grandchildren.
Bob leaves as his legacy, daughters: Rachel Branham and Jason Branham of Tyler, TX, and Jillian Round and Erin Gayden of Richardson, TX; stepdaughter: Karly Rodine and Brent Rodine of Heath, TX; and stepson: Kyle Stoehr and Kelsey Stoehr of Scurry, TX. He also deeply loved his three grandsons. Bob is survived by his brothers: Dick, Steve, and Glenn Round, their spouses, and many loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Charles and Perry Round; and sister: Evelyn Round Edwards.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Saturday, March 23, 2019, at First United Methodist Church in Rockwall, TX, with Dr. Joe Pool officiating. Interment will follow in Siloam Cemetery in Buffalo, TX. The family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society athttps://www.cancer.org/involved/donate.html.
