Wally Gene Hogland, age 66 of Rowlett, TX, passed away February 28, 2019. He was born February 5, 1953, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, to Ward Dillon Hogland and Maxine Huey. Wally worked with Lifeline Chaplaincy in local area hospitals and he was also a minister at Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction. He was an army veteran, an author and an athlete that enjoyed track, field and football. A man of many talents, Wally started his own band: JW and The Flash. In college he played tennis and became certified as a USPTA teaching professional, where he went on to volunteer as the tennis coach for First Baptist Academy. He was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Wally will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Wally is survived by his loving wife: Mary Beth Hogland; his parents: Ward and Maxine Hogland; son: Brandon Aron Hogland; brothers: Larry Hogland, Thomas Hogland and Gary Hogland; good friends: Steve Ragland, Skip Harrison and Larry White.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Monday, March 4, 2019, at the Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location, with Shane Carrington officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be held at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location on Monday, March 4, 2019 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
