Keri Heal of Rowlett, TX, passed away February 22, 2019, at the age of 36. She was born February 3, 1983, in Katy, TX, to Charles Robert and Janis (Jantz) Heal. Keri graduated from Poteet High School in Mesquite with the class of 2002. She was also involved in Special Olympics during her youth. Most recently, Keri was attending the Rockwall Connections, where she learned cooking, nutrition and general living skills. This is where she learned a healthier way of eating and started exercising daily. Through her own will and determination, she lost approximately 80 lbs in the last 18 months. She also attended Lake Pointe Church and was involved in the SOAR Program. Keri was an avid sports fan, and particularly loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks. Keri loved to sing and dance and wasn’t afraid to do so in public. She loved life and her joy was contagious. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Keri is survived by her parents: Bob and Janis Heal of Rowlett, TX; brother: Chris Heal and wife Mirta of Rowlett, TX; grandparents: Jerrie Jantz of Lake Charles, LA, and Martha Heal of Scottsdale, AZ; nephews: Julian and Alex Heal; aunts and uncles: Sandy and Ronnie Heft, Lee Lee and Tim Broussard, Janet and Ed Wildeboor, Gary and Cathy Heal, Stephen and Crystal Heal and numerous cousins.
The family will gather with friends for the viewing at Rest Haven Funeral Home on Friday, M arch 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 pm, at First Baptist Church of Rowlett. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall.
