Roger Dale Bazzell Obituary

by Front Porch Rockwall

Roger Dale Bazzell, age 67 of Heath, TX, passed away February 21, 2019. He was born September 8, 1951, in St Louis, MO, to Chester Albert Bazzell and Mary Louise Wilson. Roger was a loving Christian husband, father and grandfather. His smile could light up any room he entered, long before his personality came out. He had a servant’s heart and was always more worried about others’ comfort rather than his own. A stand out athlete, Roger won Boy of the Year at the Saint Charles County Boys Club, long before being Man of the Year to so many who knew him. The regard his friends and family had for him was something many aspire to, but few can accomplish.

Family was everything to Roger and he was a dedicated, loyal and humble friend. Roger has touched the lives of countless people who will go after him – investing his time in teaching Sunday school, coaching youth sports and being a mentor to countless youngsters while showing them a way of humanity that the world desperately needs. In all his years serving the Lord, Roger enjoyed it so much that few would even know he had a Mission. The Lord has touched this man, and Roger has touched many. His work here is finished but he will be missed dearly.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 45 years: Pam Bazzell; daughter: Angie Bazzell Robinson and husband Bobby; sons: Keith Bazzell and wife Randi and John Bazzell and wife Jayne; grandchildren: Nate, Kevin, Allie, Chase, Kade, Stevie, Jack and Molly; mother: Mary Bazzell; brothers: Dave Bazzell and wife Sue and Rob Bazzell and wife Diane; sisters: Patty Rand and husband Mark and Julie Baker and husband Ken; along with a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Chester Albert Bazzell.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am, Friday, March 1, 2019, at Lake Pointe Church-The Bridge, 701 East I-30, Rockwall, TX 75087. Interment will follow at 1:00pm in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
