According to The Dallas Morning News, a 23-year-old man drowned while he was kayaking with friends Saturday afternoon on Lake Ray Hubbard.
According to police, Linto Philip “drifted into troubled waters and capsized”.
Dallas Fire-Rescue crews were called out to the lake just before 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, after a boater spotted a group of five kayakers whose kayaks had capsized. The other kayakers are expected to be ok.
Dallas Police along with Texas Game Warden arrived to recover the body; Philip was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Philip was an international student from India who had been earning a master’s degree at the University of Texas at Dallas.
No indications of foul play have been reported.
