Stingerettes Leap Ahead of the Competition At Regional Contest

Last weekend the Stingerettes competed at Showtime International Dallas Regionals competition. This was the teams first contest of the year.

They competed in the Jazz, Lyrical, Pom, and Novelty categories. The Stingerettes won first place in every single category they entered. They received the High Point trophy for lyrical, meaning it was the highest scoring lyrical of the day.

They were also awarded Sweepstakes and Judges award. Stingerettes were also chosen as the team with the Best Technique, this means usually that they are the most advanced team technically at the contest!

The Stingerette Show stoppers also competed in the Jazz, open, and contemporary categories where they also took home Grand Champion in every category entered. In the Team Open Category our Show Stoppers were awarded Best Artistry for our door dance! We also received the high point across all teams for the open category with a score of 99! The Stingerette officers also competed this weekend where they were awarded Grand champion officers for taking first place in every category entered – Jazz, Contemporary, and Lyrical.

The officers also won the High point for contemporary scoring higher than any other contemporary piece that day. In the solo division, three Stingerettes who were selected as finalists – Alyssa Balderas, Julia Blevins, and Kendall Bayes. Jessi Schmitt won first place in the studio category and Ashlynn White won first place in the school category!
