Shooting an ‘Isolated Incident’, Does Not Indicate ‘Further Threat’, Royse City PD Says

In a press release Monday afternoon, Royse City Police Department stated that they believe that the incident in the early morning hours of February 3,  was an isolated incident and that there was “nothing that would indicate a further threat to  sudents/staff at Royse City ISD or the general public.”

The release also stated that due to this involving a current and former Royse City ISD student and the investigation being ongoing, that the identities are being withheld at this time.

No arrests have been made at this time.

At approximately 03:05 A.M. on February 3rd, 2019, Royse City Police Department was notified by dispatch of gunshots being fired in the 3100 blk of Overstreet in the Woodland Creek subdivision.

Upon Officers arrival, two subjects were found deceased. It is unknown at this time what led to this shooting, however it is believed that at least a third individual was involved and left the location prior to officers arrival.
