Richard A. Jolley, Sr., age 88 of Rockwall, TX, passed away January 29, 2019. He was born May 26, 1930, in Hemet, CA, to Chester B. and Gertrude E. (McKibben) Jolley. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years, serving in both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He lived in Scroggins, TX, for 25 years and in New Boston, TX, for 20 years before moving to Rockwall. Richard was an active member of both the Veterans Association and the American Legion. He married the love of his life, Billie, on September 28, 1956, and they were married almost 46 years before she passed away in 2002. An electrician by trade, Richard enjoyed carpentry and fishing, especially with Billie. He was a loving husband and father who will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his sons: Chester Jolley and wife Silvia of Rockwall, TX, Richard Jolley, Jr. and wife Rose of Stevensville, MT, and James Jolley and wife Cindy of Winnsboro, TX; daughters: Anita Wallace and husband Bruce of Pittsburg, TX, and Lisa White and husband Dale of El Reno, OK; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Billie Jolley; and sister: Trudi Wagner
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held 2:00pm, Saturday February 9, 2019, at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, 502 S. McCoy, New Boston, TX, 75570. Inurnment will follow in Ringwood Cemetery in New Boston.
