An arrest warrant was issued this week by Dallas police for a former Rockwall area priest. 78 year old Richard Thomas Brown was then arrested in Missouri on Wednesday on a warrant related to molesting a child in North Texas in the 1980s.

It is not clear which church Brown was at when the alleged incident occurred. According to the Dallas Morning News, “After Brown was ordained in 1980, he served in several North Texas Catholic parishes over the decades including St. Thomas Aquinas in Dallas; Holy Family of Nazareth in Irving; St. Philip in Pleasant Grove in Dallas; St. Mark the Evangelist in Plano; and Our Lady of the Lake in Rockwall.”

Brown was removed from priesthood in 2002. He was parts of the sexual offenders identified in May 2019 during DPD’s search of three diocese properties.

According to NBC 5, “The affidavit says Brown admitted to sexually abusing multiple children at four different parishes in North Texas. Brown told detectives that the Diocese of Dallas ‘knew about sexual abuse allegations against him in 1987.’
