Press Release from Royse City City Manager Carl Alsabrook:

Royse City Police Chief Jeff Stapleton has announced his intention to retire from his service with the department. The effective date of his retirement from the police department will be January 17, 2020. We salute Chief Stapleton for 18 years of valiant service to our community and over 25 years of service to the law enforcement community.

There should be no question as to the impact that Chief Stapleton has brought to our community. During lean times, he was a stabilizing force within our city. He, like many of you, persevered through extremely difficult times. I salute his service. I value his ethics and integrity. I applaud his commitment to putting others before self. I will miss his presence at 100 West Main but look forward to his future involvement with the city and understand his desire to explore other professional avenues.

Jeff has had interests in construction and project management for some time. Jeff will be attending training January 20-24 to explore those opportunities and how they can best benefit Royse City. To that end, Jeff will be transitioning to a position within city hall where he can assist us with the rapid growth that we are experiencing.

Please join me in congratulating Chief Jeff Stapleton for a storied law enforcement career. We are better for it and will benefit greatly as he changes his focus with the City of Royse City.
