Royse City PD Heroically Rescue Accident Victim In Nearly Submerged Vehicle

by Front Porch Rockwall

From Royse City PD Chief Stapleton:

On February 22, 2019, at approximately 8:20 P.M., Royse City P.D. officers responded to the area of FM 548 and the Waterscape subdivision regarding an accident. Upon arrival, a witness to the incident advised officers that a vehicle had left the roadway and rolled several times. Officers found a white in color vehicle nearly submerged in the lake in front of the subdivision. Officers removed their duty gear and swam into the water as the vehicle was sinking. Officers broke the glass on the windows and was able to gain access inside. A female, the sole occupant, who was struggling franticly was able to be removed and brought safely to shore. It is the actions of these officers that a life was saved and that these officers be recognized for their heroic response. It is with great honor that the Royse City Police Department recognize these officers and award each of them with A Life Saving Award. I am very proud of the actions that these officers took. They placed themselves in harm’s way. We could not be more blessed to have such amazing men and women representing our organization, thank you Sgt. Meek and Officer Bivins.
